Calandrinia balonensis
Family: Portulacaceae
Succulent annual herb with dense, bright green fleshy foliage. Flowers are hot pink-purple with five petals and appear above the foliage on slender stems. They have a prominent yellow centre and open during the daytime, closing just before sunset.
Leaves are wider than most other parakeelyas, usually 5 to 10mm wide and 50 to 100mm long with a prominent, impressed midvein.
Common in the red sand country, particularly amongst spinifex.
