Family: Poaceae

An upright grass which grows to 50cm high. The leaves are bright green. It is described as a short-lived perennial which emerges after summer rains.

The plant produces long feathery seed heads which are green, sometimes highlighted with purple, and change to white as they age.

This grass is quite common and is found in a wide variety of situations including rocky outcrops, gravel or sandy soils, valley floors, creeklines, alluvial flats and drainage depressions.
