Red Centre Bird Festival

The Red Centre is a haven for birds, filled with threatened species and diverse habitats. Explore Australia’s best birding destination in the heart of the outback. If you are luck you may spot Bourke’s Parrot, Dusky Grasswren, Spinifex Pigeon, Mulga Parrot & Rufous-crowned Emu-wren. Take part in extended guided tours, short field trips, art and photography exhibitions and activities for nature lovers and those starting the journey. Program to be launched in April-May 2019.

Threatened Species Weekend
Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September 2019
Alice Springs Desert Park is raising awareness for national threatened species conservation by conducting a National Threatened Species Weekend, marked by National Threatened Species Day on Saturday 7th September. Join the special program to learn more about Australia’s plants, animals and ecosystems under threat.
Standard entry fees or valid Territorian Pass or Membership is required.
