Visitors to the Alice Springs Desert Park are subject to these Terms of Entry and the Territory Parks and Wildlife Conservation By-laws.
Visitors enter the park at their own risk and do so under these terms.
No liability for loss, injury or damage will be accepted. All visitors must wear attire appropriate for a community facility and for safety reasons, appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
Clothing with objectionable, vulgar or offensive writing images or imprints are not permitted.
The park reserves the right to refuse entry to visitors wearing costumes or items of clothing that may, at park’s absolute discretion, be considered objectionable or have a negative impact on the animals or other visitors.
Visitors must not conduct any commercial or charity activity without the written consent of the park, which consent may be given subject to conditions.
The park is smoke-free and smoking is not permitted in the desert park grounds, this includes electronic cigarettes and vaping.
During opening hours there is a designated smoking area outside the entry courtyard.
Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave or may be removed.
Visitors to the park must not:
- create a disturbance or intentionally obstruct or disturb another person engaged in use of the park
- create noise or do anything that might cause reasonable offence or annoyance, behave in a disorderly, indecent or offensive manner
- use offensive or indecent language
- behave in a manner likely to injure the person, another person, plant or animal.
Visitors and tour operators who breach any terms and conditions of entry will be asked to cease these activities.
Failure to comply will result in visitors being escorted off the park.
Failure to comply with the by-laws may result in an offence to which a penalty applies.
It is the responsibility of the agent or tour operator to advise their clients attending the park of the terms and that the by-laws apply to persons within the park.
The park reserves the right to request proof of age, residence or concession eligibility.
Cancellation policy
General entry
No cancellation fees apply to individual traveller or small group bookings of less than 10 people, where only park entry applies and the booking is cancelled by the agent, tour operator or client.
Tours and experiences
Where bookings are cancelled by the agent, tour operator or visitor, the park reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees:

The park reserves the right to cancel bookings due to poor weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Should the unlikely event of the park instigated cancellation occur there will be no charges issued and for prepaid clients a full refund will be provided.
Option of rescheduling is at the discretion of the park and subject to availability.
