Wildflower Festival

Across 2 weeks, from 7 to 21 September 2026, the Alice Springs Desert Park will come alive with a program of special experiences inspired by the colour, diversity and beauty of the desert in bloom.

Discover the remarkable plants and wildflowers that thrive in this arid landscape through a program of daily botanical talks, or get creative with a series of bookable workshops inspired by the natural environment.

Art and creativity will feature throughout the festival, with an exhibition of works by local artists in the entry station and a live mural project taking shape in the park’s main courtyard, giving visitors the opportunity to watch a new artwork come to life.

Local schools are also joining the celebration, creating colourful fabric pieces inspired by our wildflowers, native plants and landscapes.

These individual artworks will be brought together as a collaborative installation in the main courtyard, adding another splash of colour to the festival.

Whether you’re a keen gardener, an art lover, a budding creative or simply curious about the plants that make our desert such a remarkable place, the Wildflower Festival is a chance to experience the park in a whole new way.
